The Booker Prize wanted a live streaming and production partner to create a new companion show around the 2023 ceremony in London.
The goal was to reach younger audiences through a live stream and social-first clips, hosted by YouTuber Jack Edwards, before handing over to the main ceremony for the winner announcement.
The live stream helped open up the Booker Prize to a younger and more digital-first audience.
As the client put it:
“Perhaps a production company known for their expertise in sports coverage was not an obvious choice for bringing a prestigious annual award event for published fiction to the screen but not only did Sunset+Vine provide the fast-paced multi-location livestream and multi-platform content output we asked for, they delivered it with easy professionalism, creativity, good humour and to budget.”
Sunset+Vine delivered a technical solution that was robust, cost-effective and polished, then worked closely with the Booker team to shape the running order and prepare pre-recorded VTs for each shortlisted novel.
Four fixed cameras captured the sofa-set conversations, while two roaming cameras and a dedicated social producer brought viewers closer to the atmosphere of the event and its guests.
