A quintessentially British brand steeped in heritage, Henley Royal Regatta were keen to embrace modern engagement methods while upholding the rich legacy that defined them. Having been their broadcast partner since 2015, Sunset + Vine consolidated broadcast, press and social activities under one umbrella that expanded HRR’s audience and delivered brand prestige for the 2021, 2022 and 2023 events.

THE HOW

Sunset+Vine teams immediately took to the task of merging seamlessly across broadcast, press and digital to deliver a fully immersive Henley Royal Regatta experience. The halo effect of streamlining processes provided instant access to an unparalleled network of industry contacts and expertise that has continued to deliver growth year on year.

The PR and Communications team operated for three years, not only managing the press office but delivering a robust communications strategy both on and off-event. Working closely with broadcast, the team was able to deliver additional Video News Releases to further bolster TV coverage as well as share of voice in the media sphere. Working equally closely with the digital and social teams enabled an alignment and sharing of content to not only amplify press coverage, but create efficiencies where possible. Through this consolidation and alignment, Sunset + Vine were able to respect HRR’s rich rowing legacy while leveraging current public narratives and media channels to position Henley Royal Regatta as the highlight of the British summer social calendar.

THE RESULT

Following the consolidation across Sunset + Vine teams, total news reach increased on average a staggering 42% each year. 2023 saw our highest level of news coverage to date, generating an equivalent of $50m in advertising value. The introduction of Video News Releases saw a staggering 124% increase in moving image news coverage.
