UEFA’s host broadcast partner, with EMG providing match coverage teams

THE BRIEF

The 2022 Women’s EURO was one of the biggest sporting events of the summer, and UEFA needed a team with deep football credentials to deliver the match coverage for broadcasters around the world.

That team came together through a partnership between EMG and Sunset+Vine.

THE HOW

While EMG delivered the technical infrastructure, Sunset+Vine assembled an expert editorial and production team.

Planning placed real emphasis on women in key roles, alongside experienced staff who had worked on men’s and women’s World Cup finals and other major tournaments. The coverage included editorial and technical innovations such as four super-slow-motion cameras, two hi-motion cameras and strong stadium exterior coverage that captured the atmosphere building around every game.

THE RESULT

The tournament ended with a classic final and a huge emotional payoff as England lifted the trophy.

The coverage was watched by more than 17 million people in the UK and helped tell the story of a tournament that pushed women’s football into a new era.
