When Amazon Prime Video secured the rights to international rugby they needed to ensure the best coverage of games in England, Wales, Scotland, France and Italy over a four-week period while capturing and delivering a mass of on-demand content.

The How

We assembled the most experienced production team in rugby broadcasting to give Prime Video a 30-camera match coverage plan which included Spidercam, drones, corner-flag and robotic cameras.

We also introduced several world-firsts including PostCAM: an innovative system of eight cameras fixed to the posts; and the Arri Trinity: a hybrid camera stabiliser never before used on live sport. This was backed up by a talent roster that included some of the best and most credible presenters, commentators and analysts from around the world.

The Impact

The result has been international rugby coverage which has raised the bar and matched Amazon’s ambitions for rugby on Prime Video.
