Launching a multi-language T20 cricket league

THE BRIEF

When a brand-new T20 league launched in the UAE in 2023, the ambition was clear.

The DP World International League T20 wanted to sit alongside the world’s leading franchise competitions, with six teams, major international stars and iconic venues in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah. The league needed coverage that looked and felt every bit as big as the cricket itself.

THE RESULT

The coverage helped the DP World ILT20 establish itself quickly as a credible new force in franchise cricket.

It gave the league a broadcast identity that felt ambitious, modern and unmistakably premium — not just a cricket match, but a full-scale sporting spectacle.

THE HOW

Sunset+Vine delivered high-energy, multi-language coverage that helped the new league make its mark in a crowded market.

We treated every game like a major event. Across all 34 matches, we deployed a 32-camera set-up featuring BuggyCam, Spidercam and drone coverage to give every game scale, pace and spectacle.
We also broke new ground editorially, producing three simultaneous commentary teams in three languages, all synchronised within a single broadcast.

In season two, we pushed things further with cameras inside the third umpire’s room and live analysis from The Hitting Zone, where former players demonstrated T20 skills and techniques in real time.
