World Chess approached Sunset+Vine looking to hire a media agency to deliver their new made-for-television chess series. After a successful consultancy period Sunset+Vine was hired to distribute the worldwide media rights focussing on introducing chess to a new audience as well as maintaining their existing fan base.
The Armageddon Championship Series redefined the excitement surrounding chess, transforming a traditional game into a riveting spectator sport. Characterised by its high-intensity and fast-paced format, the inaugural series gained widespread acclaim and was broadcast across 33 networks, including major media outlets Bloomberg and CNBC in 147 countries with a household reach of 300 million.
Sunset+Vine has an enviable reputation for bringing new sports formats to a worldwide audience. Nothing demonstrates that better than the Armageddon Series. We were able to target audience groups demographically and geographically with a sophistication that has only recently become possible and then report back on the value in the metrics that resonated most with our client and their commercial ambitions.
