World Chess approached Sunset+Vine to help launch a new made-for-television chess format.
Following an initial consultancy period, we were appointed to distribute the worldwide media rights, with a clear goal: bring chess to a new audience without losing the fans who already loved it.
The Armageddon Championship Series turned chess into compelling television.
Its fast, high-pressure format gave the sport a fresh edge, and the inaugural series was broadcast by 33 networks, including Bloomberg and CNBC, across 147 countries with a household reach of 300 million.
Sunset+Vine used its experience of launching and growing emerging sports formats to position the Armageddon Series for a global audience.
We targeted broadcasters by market and demographic with precision, then reported back with the metrics and commercial value that mattered most to the client.
